In 1968, Charles and Sandy Burkhart made arrangements to purchase Bright Funeral Home in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Their two sons, Carl and Craig, were born in 1970 and 1973. Both grew up living at the funeral home and currently operate the business with their father. Carl is a 1989 graduate of Crawfordsville High School and a 1994 graduate of Worsham College of Wheeling, Illinois. He and his wife, Sara, have two children, Colin and Kaitlyn. Craig is a 1991 graduate of Crawfordsville High School and a 1995 graduate of Hanover College of Hanover, Indiana. He and his wife, Kat, have a son, Cyrus.
