Obituary

Wanda Fay Harrison

Feb. 12, 1946-Feb. 23, 2025

Wanda Fay Harrison went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Feb. 23, 2025.  She was 79.

Wanda was born in Shelbyville, Indiana on February 12, 1946.  She was the daughter of the late Hubert and Lorene (Hughes) Holt.  Wanda married her soul mate, Paul D. Harrison on July 24, 1976 at the Crawfordsville Church of the Nazarene.  They have four children.

Wanda attended school at Tangier, Coal Creek and graduated from Crawfordsville.  She attended Ivy Tech and took counseling training through Heartbeat International, and Loving and Caring.  She worked 30 years at Crawford Industries with most of that time in the lab as a color tech.  She worked 16 years at Women's Resource Center as a client advocate and site coordinator.

Wanda was a member of the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene, where she served on the church board, a choir member, and Sunday school teacher, women's ministries, prayer cells, and life groups.  She also served as a Cub Scout leader and did volunteer work at Women's Resource Center.

Wanda is survived by: sons, David (Jenny) Surber, Scott (Jennifer) Surber, both of Crawfordsville, Chris (Lori) Harrison of New Jersey; daughter, Suzy (Rod) Gustafson of Lafayette; one brother, Jerry Tim (Jackie) Holt of Kingman; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Harrison, sister, Shirley King, sister, Geraldine, brothers, Raymond, Larry, Ernie, Wint, and Harold Holt, daughter-in-law, Lori Surber, son-in-law, Danny Oliver and one grandchild.

Wanda enjoyed time with her family and friends, reading, gardening, cycle riding and serving the Lord.  Wand felt the most important thing she learned in life was "the more excellent way to live" 1 Corinthians 13 "And now these remain: Faith, Hope and Love, but the greatest of these is Love."

Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM Saturday, March 1st at the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene.  Services will begin at 1 PM.  After the service, she will be laid to rest at the Linden Cemetery.
