Obituary

Rick Hodges of Crawfordsville passed away suddenly on Sunday night at home.  He was 63.

Rick worked at Lakeside (formerly R.R. Donnelley) for the past 12 years and retired last Thursday.  He was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School.  He enjoyed golf, softball and collecting things, particularly if they involved Elvis since he was a huge Elvis fan.

Born Sept. 5, 1958 in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Donald Hodges and Ruth Webb Hodges.  He married Susan Lemon Hodges in 2006.  She survives.

Surviving family includes: wife, Susan Hodges; four step-children, Heather (Kevin) Strickland of Lake Holiday, Nicole (Mason) Morrison, Robert (Tara) McKinney and J.B. McKinney, Jr. all of Crawfordsville; four children he adopted, Logan McKinney, Courtney McKinney, Ollie McKinney and Ethan McKinney, all at home; three brothers, Randy Hodges, David (Chris) Hodges, Larry Hodges; five sisters, Brenda Taylor, Nola (Tim) Lee, Trixie (Steve) Conkright, Reva (Tony) Spohr, Shelley Hodges; father-in-law, Ray Lemon; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Donald and Ruth Hodges; three brothers, Kenneth Mason, Richard Hodges, Herman Hodges; three sisters, Jackie Mason, Trudy Hodges, Sheron Mefford; three brothers-in-law, Mark Mefford, John Nearon, Donnie Taylor; mother-in-law, Betty Newkirk.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Thursday at Burkhart Funeral Home.  Services will begin at 11 AM Friday at the funeral home, after which he will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery North.
