Phyllis I. Trenkle of Lafayette passed away Monday morning at Franciscan Health of Lafayette at the age of 94.

Phyllis liked to bowl, play cards and go out to lunch with friends in her "lunch bunch."  She was also a Purdue Boilermaker fan.

Born March 14, 1930 in Henning, Illinois, she was the daughter of Theodore McLain and Catherine Laflen McLain.  She graduated from Williamsport High School.

Surviving family includes: two daughters, Marsha Wells (John) and Chris Van Laere; two grandchildren, Amy Wells (Sam) and Patrick Wells (Laura); four great-grandchildren, Ali, Carter, Nolan and Regan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Shirley May (Dean) and a brother, Bobby McLain (Marge).

Graveside services will be at 1 PM Friday, May 31st at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Darlington.  Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Home.
