Peggy Lou Steinke of Russellville passed away on October 19, 2024 at Hendricks Regional Health. She was 85.

Peggy was born on April 25, 1939 to Robert and Annetta Hamilton Caldwell in Indianapolis, Indiana. She attended many schools but ultimately graduated from Ben Davis, class of 1957. Peggy went on to work as a waitress, a corrections officer at a girl's school, she worked for the state in many capacities and as a bookkeeper for Bell Telephone. In her free time Peggy loved to dance. She also would do crossword puzzles and she used to crochet and sew.

Surviving family includes: daughter, Dana (Ken) Melvin; sons, William (Tammy) Steinke, Kenneth Steinke, and Kris (Veronica) Steinke; sister, Betty Caldwell; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Dawn Deweese; grandson, Nicholas; brother, David Caldwell; sister-in-law, Dorothy Caldwell; daughter-in-law Amy Steinke

Visitation will be on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 2PM till the time of the service at 4PM, at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W Wabash Ave, Crawfordsville, IN.
