Micaela Garcia
September 25, 1938 to November 27, 2024
Micaela Garcia, of Crawfordsville, passed away surrounded by her family on November 27, 2024. She was 86.
Born in Veracruz, Mexico on September 25, 1938 to Francisco and Jauna Castellańos Garcia. Before getting married she would love to go out to swim. She was an excellent swimmer. She also would go and help her godfather to clean homes.
She married Fernando Ortiz. She got married back in 1985. She moved to the US in 1999 along with her daughter. She was well known in crawfordsville by the hispanic community because of her delicious "sweet bread".
Despite her advanced age she was a very active lady. She loved baking bread, her family always had to make sure she wasn't doing anything too dangerous for her age or working herself too much. She loved going out to eat with her sons and daughters. She loved going out to explore new cities. She also loved having her family over even though she would always say "my house is too small for my family". She was a very committed lady to her church. She attended the christian pentecostal church "House of God, Door to Heaven". No matter how bad she was feeling she was always at church. She was a woman of prayer. She would always tell her family members to never forget God's path. We will always remember her by her saying "Santo Dios".
