Mary K. (Hougland) Cox, 82, returned to her heavenly home on July 9,

2019. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God made her

the person whom everyone loved.

Mary K. was born on April 23, 1937 to the late Kenneth Hougland and

Hildreth Hougland (Everett) in Covington, IN.

She was blessed with a devoted husband, Dwight Cox and a loving

family. Dwight and Mary K. were married on September 15, 1957 at a

little country church in Covington, IN. She was dedicated to helping

her husband on the farm for twenty-two years and raising their three

daughters.

Mary K. was an active member of the Congregational Christian Church

in Darlington since 1966. Her love for music led her to many years of

playing the piano and keyboard for the praise team. She kept the

congregation hopping, in more ways than one! She loved life and her

spunk along with her sense of humor left a lasting impression to all

that knew her. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones, who

celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator.

She is survived by her husband Dwight; her daughters Camilla Sawick,

Connie (Ken) Lee and Carla (Fred) Earl; her eight grandchildren and

five great grandchildren. Mary K. was preceded in death by her

brother Gene Hougland; her parents; and her son-in-law David Sawick.

A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, July 17 at the

Congregational Christian Church in Darlington with burial at Green

Lawn Cemetery in Darlington. Friends and Family may call from

11:00-2:00 with the service to follow immediately after.
