Marie A. Whitt, age 80, of Spring Lake, Michigan, passed away on April 28, 2022 at home.  She was born on March 15, 1942 in Davenport, Iowa to the late Ralph and Doris (Withee) Howell.  Marie married Richard Whitt on February 2, 1980 in Terre Haute, Indiana.  He preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 2018 after 38 years of marriage.

Marie attended school in both Iowa and California, later obtaining her associate degree and becoming an LPN.  She worked at the Veteran's Hospital in West Lafayette for most of her career, before her retirement.

Marie is lovingly remembered and missed the her three daughters, Tammy Hayes, Kimberly Marchand and Tonya Pugh; her son, Gerald Donovan; step-son, Jeff Whitt and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughters, Donna Morehead and Bonnie Brown; her son, James Donovan and step-daughter, Teresa Marlow.

A private burial will take place at the Danville National Cemetery in Danville, Illinois.  Arrangements in Michigan were handled by Klaasen Funeral Home with burial arrangements under the direction of Burkhart Funeral Home.
