Marie Norris

Marcella Marie Norris of Crawfordsville passed away Monday evening in the Lane House Nursing Home at the age of 91.

Marie liked cooking and making sure her family was well fed.  She also enjoyed gardening, playing cards and drinking coffee on her front porch.  She loved her family and the time she was able to spend with them.  She was employed at several places over the years and retired from Aloca.  She was a member of the First Assembly of God.

Born Jan. 27, 1933 in Waynesburg, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Ben Busse and Minnie Releford Busse.  She married Russell C. Norris and he preceded her in death on June 27, 1992.

Surviving family includes: daughter, Joyce Sue Fischer of Crawfordsville; grandson, Brian (Sherry) Sparrow of Crawfordsville; two granddaughters, Michele (Bryan) Long of New Market and Candy (Derek) Chamness of Syracuse, Indiana; brother, Jerry Busse; six great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Russell Norris; daughter, Carolyn Jean Dowell; great-grandson, Skyler Spore; brother, Vic; three sisters, Dorothy, Lilly and Stella.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM Thursday, Oct. 10th at Burkhart Funeral Home, Crawfordsville.  Services will begin at 7 PM, led by Pastor Brian Hudson.  Graveside services will be at 2 PM Saturday, Oct. 12th at the Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Waynesburg, Kentucky.
