Leroy L. Shelton died January 17, 2020 at Ben Hur Home.  He was 92 years old.

He was born December 26, 1927 at Crawfordsville to Raymond and Ical Allen Shelton.  He graduated from Crawfordsville High School. He married Ruby Eileen Newkirk November 24, 1945.  He attended Christ United Methodist Church.  He was employed by R.R. Donnelly for 30 years and then retired from Crawfordsville School Corporation.  He was a 50 year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a member of the Golden Age Eagles Club.

He loved Purdue and Wabash football and watching his son coach Attica High School sports and attending his grandchildren and great-grandchildren's events.  He loved to talk and tell jokes, dancing and being with friends and family.

Preceding him in death were his parents, daughter and son-in-law Sheryl and Russell Warford, stillborn son Danny, brothers Harold, Leslie and Carl Shelton and sister Mildred Pointer.

Survivors are his wife Ruby Eileen of 74 years, son Tom (Phyllis) Shelton of Noblesville, grandson Jason (Denise) of Othello, Washington, grandson Ryan (Jennifer) of Noblesville, granddaughter Justine Warford of Crawfordsville, great-grandchildren Holly and Molly Van Ostran, Maddie Shelton, Alex Warford and Nicholas Warford and sister Mary Perry and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services with F.O.E. rites will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 21 at Burkhart Funeral Home with Pastor Dirk Caldwell officiating assisted by Pastor Ivan Brewer.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service. A dinner will follow at the Crawfordsville Eagles.

Cremation was chosen with a burial at 1:00 PM Thursday at Oak Hill Cemetery North.
