Kent Gambrel

Kent Gambrel of Crawfordsville passed away Friday at home.  He was 71.

Kent was a graduate of Triton Central in 1970 and Purdue in 1975 with a bachelor's degree in industrial management.  He worked at Raybestos for 40 years.

Born Sept 23, 1952, he was the son of Irvin Gambrel and Maxine Gambrel.  Kent married Cyndi Wilson on July 16, 1994 in Crawfordsville at the First Baptist Church.

Surviving family includes: mother, Maxine; wife, Cyndi Gambrel; sons, Todd (Heidi) Gambrel and Scott (Laura) Gambrel; siblings, Keith (Carol), Salli (Steve) Betz; step-daughter, Amy Pond (John Larew); grandchildren, Thatcher, Rowan, Lilly and Noah; step-grandchildren Victoria Padgett (Todd), Chance Sheldon, Joseph, Jacob and Nathan Pond; great-grandchildren, Aurora June and Addilynn Padgett.

He was preceded in death by his father, Irvin, step-daughter, Michelle Wilson Shelton, a step-great-granddaughter, Chloe June Shelton as well as a brother-in-law, Jasper Cox.

Visitation will be from 3 PM to 6 PM Friday, Feb. 9th at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 West Wabash.  A private family prayer service will be held after the visitation.  Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery North at a later date.
