John Jackson

Feb. 10, 1937-Dec. 15, 2022

John Jackson of Crawfordsville passed away Thursday night at Whitlock Place where he lived the past three years.  He was 85.

Mr. Jackson worked at R.R. Donnelley for 40 years, retiring from there.  He was a member of the Moose, Kingman Masonic Lodge and the Methodist Church in Kingman.  He graduated from Kingman High School in 1955, attended Indiana University and remained an avid supporter of IU throughout his life.

Born Feb. 10, 1937 in Kingman, he was the son of Henry Wesley Jackson and Mary Ellen McGill Jackson.  He married Melinda Mae Priest on July 4, 1958 in Crawfordsville.  She passed away Dec. 2, 2011

Surviving family includes: son, Eric Jackson (Liz) of Lafayette; two daughters, Melanie Cravens (David) of Crawfordsville, Kerra Waters (David) of Indianapolis, seven grandchildren, Nathaniel, Aaron, Daniel, Chris, Meredith, Sam and Lydia; three great-grandchildren, Rowyn, Gwen and Gavin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Melinda Jackson, and a brother, Gary Jackson.

Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM Tuesday, Dec. 20 ^th at Burkhart Funeral Home.  Services will begin at 1 PM.  After the service, he will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery South.
