Joe W. Bruton

Joe W. Bruton of Crawfordsville passed away Sunday night at Lane House at the age of 85.

Joe worked for Goodyear and for several years was nicknamed "Goodyear Joe."  He serviced area farmers and later became self-employed, helping farmers in his shop.

Born Dec. 31, 1940 in Glasgow, Kentucky, he was the son of Joe W. Bruton and Edna Cannon Bruton.  He married Joyce Adams on July 24, 1959 and she passed away Jan. 9, 2025.

Surviving family includes: son, Kurt Bruton of Greenfield; daughter, Stacy Weinreich of Lafayette; four grandchildren, Reese Bruton, Cameron Weinreich, Jareth Bruton and Joshua Bruton; two sisters, Linda Cooper and Dinah Tudor.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Bruton, brothers, Jerry Bruton, John Bruton, three sisters, Marjorie Addler, Carolyn Rentchler and Frances Miller.

Visitation will be from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM on Friday, March 13th at Burkhart Funeral Home.  Services will begin at 2:30. After the service, he will be laid to rest at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery.
