Jill Elinor (Ault) Stockwell of Crawfordsville passed away at home on the morning of Friday April 18th.  She was 86.

Born January 21, 1939, in Athens, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Vernon Dean and Freda Naomi (Ballenger) Ault. On June 14, 1964, she married Bill Stockwell.  He survives.

She graduated from Akron High School in Akron, Indiana and later earned her Master's Degree in Art Education from Indiana State University.  She was an elementary school art teacher for over 30 years, most recently at Ladoga and Walnut Township Elementary Schools.

She was a member of Woodland Heights Christian Church for 56 years where she served joyfully in children's ministries. Jill's faith was foundational to every aspect of her life.  Her greatest desire was that everyone be saved by having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Jill was a talented and creative artist. She taught adult painting and children's craft classes at the Crawfordsville Park and Recreation Department. Her artwork hangs in various homes, doctor offices, the gate house of the General Lew Wallace Study, and a mural in the children's area of the Crawfordsville District Public Library.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter Holly (Jake) Losee; son Scott (Molly) Stockwell; grandsons Reuben Losee, John Losee, Lee Stockwell and Conner (Brenna) Stockwell.

Preceding her in death are her parents, a sister Alys (Ault) Doring and Brother-in-law Dale Doring.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 23rd from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Burkhart Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, April 24th at the funeral home with Steve Wilke officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery North.
