Jasmine Ernest Robinson was called home to her Heavenly Father July 18, 2020. She was born May 8, 1927 to Roy and Nora Singleton Ernest at Greencastle, Indiana.

She attended grade and high schools, graduating in 1945. She immediately found employment in Indianapolis, Indiana with P. R. Mallory Company, as an Inspector of walkie-talkie radios for the U.S. Government.

Jasmine met Andrew Robinson, and they were married March 14, 1947. They moved to Crawfordsville. To that union a baby girl was born, whom they named Regina

Jasmine became a maid, a cook, and a seamstress - making all of the Children's Story Books into handmade quilts and giving them away. She was an Inspector of Crowns at Crown, Cork and Seal Company.

Wabash College hired Jasmine as Administrative Assistant in the Computer Center, where she remained for 28 years before retiring in 1990. The Board of Directors of the National Association of Wabash Men selected Jasmine to receive the Honorary Alumna Award for the Class of '85 on September 29, 2007. The Computer Center in the Malcolm X Institute bears her name.

Jasmine's numerous accomplishments included hosting a Jazz Show on WNDY Radio on the Wabash Campus, called Cookin' With Jazz. She wrote a cookbook labeled with the same name, which can be found in the Public Library.

She was past President of the NAACP.

From childhood Jasmine had a love for music, which continued through her adult life. She was the Director of Music at Second Baptist Church for 45 years.

Jasmine also loved sports. She was a member of the All-Women's Softball Team sponsored by Elston Bank. She was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1988 at C'ville Lanes Bowling Center. She returned to bowling in 2014 at the age of 87 at Plaza Lanes.

Jasmine was a member of Grace and Mercy Ministries where she played the organ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew; parents; one sister, Althea Ernest; four brothers: Leland, Everett, Raymond and William; and one son, Andrew Junior.

She leaves to mourn one daughter, Regina King of Indianapolis; two nephews, Aaron Boone of Florida and Thomas E. Churchill II of Martinez, California; and adopted daughter Carol Eubank Warren.

Jasmine demonstrated a love for life and a love for others. We will miss her humor, her hospitality, her wonderful meals, her generosity and her loving kindness.

Friends may call Saturday, July 25 ^th from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Grace and Mercy Ministries, 257 W. Oak Hill Rd., Crawfordsville.  A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Nathan Miller and Pastor Josef Lee officiating.  Burial will be at the Danville (Illinois) National Cemetery.

It is requested that all attendees please wear masks and practice social distancing.
