Glen Conkright

June 8, 1949 to June 21, 2025

Glen Conkright of Crawfordsville passed away on Saturday morning at home.  He was 76 years old.

He was born to Glen and Catherine Boardman Conkright on June 8, 1949, at home in Montgomery County. He married Kathy Lindley September 18, 2010.

Glen served his country proudly in the United States Army and was a very proud Vietnam War Veteran.  After his discharge from the Army, he went on to serve in the National Guard for 4 years. Glen attended Crawfordsville Schools. worked at Plastenes, Midstate's Steel and Wire, and retired from Acuity Brand Lighting. He was a 54-year Life member of the Brian Bowman VFW Post #1431, Past Commander of the Post, and VFW 6th District Commander. He was a member of the American Legion, Eagles, Moose Lodge, DAV, Vietnam Veterans of America and served several years on American Legion Honor Guard.

Glen is survived by his wife, Kathy; three sons, Larry (Jana) Minks of Crawfordsville, Ric (Traci) Walke of Brownsburg, and Ryan (Amy) Walke of Darlington; 11 Grandchildren, 6 great- grandchildren and 1 great grandchild due any time; several nieces and nephews that he loved like his own, brother, Jerry Conkright; sister, Wanda Woodcock; and good friends Dave and Jean Yount.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Bob Conkright, Bill Butts, Ernest Lee Butts, and David Conkright; sisters Leoda McCloud, Cora Forrest, and Alberta Fairfield.

A celebration of Life will be held at Brian Bowman VFW Post #1431, in Crawfordsville on Sunday, June 29th. A visitation from 1 PM to 3 PM and a VFW Memorial Service will follow at 3PM and Eulogy by Larry Minks. Military rites immediately following by the American Legion Honor Guard. The burial will take place privately later at the Boswell Cemetery.
