Florence May Wright

Jan. 31, 1930-Jan. 7, 2025

Florence May Wright of Aiken, South Carolina, formerly of Montgomery County, passed away at home Tuesday evening.  She was 94.

Florence worked as a cook at St. Mary of the Woods College for 16 years, retiring from there in 1992.  She graduated from Darlington High School, class of 1948.  She was previously a member of the Garfield Christian Church.

Born Jan. 31, 1930 in Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of Roy Harper and Helen Moffitt Harper.

Surviving family includes: four sons, Leslie H. Wright, Roy Wright, Gordon Wright and Michael W. Wright; two grandsons and three granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Babbette Wright, sister, Mary Ann Caldwell and two brothers, Glen Harper and Jim Harper.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 PM on Wednesday, January 15th at Burkhart Funeral Home.  After the visitation there will be a graveside service at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Darlington.
