Deloris Paugh McKinney Cope

Deloris Paugh McKinney Cope, age 100, went to her heavenly home on March 21, 2026.

Born in Lebanon, Indiana to Glenn Paugh and Opal June Hipes Paugh Cosby on February 3, 1926. Deloris was a graduate from New Ross High School and went on to work payroll at IMPEX where she retired and later worked at MAC'S Auto Electric. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and then a member of Rock Point Church. Deloris enjoyed small group meetings and fellowship at church. In February this year Deloris celebrated her 100th birthday with a small party at Mill Pond Health Campus in Greencastle. Deloris was a Godly, quiet, and pleasant follower of the Lord with quick wit and ready sense of humor, she was loved and will be missed by many church friends and family.

Surviving family includes: daughters, Linda (Richard) Steele, and Rita (Larry) Manuel; daughter-in-law, Teresa Harwood McKinney; step-daughters, Yvonna (Richard) McGhee, Merrilee Wagner, and Rendy (Tim) Sowders; grandchildren, Lloyd Petrey, Ginger Petrey- Baird, Traci McKinney, David McKinney, Jaclyn (Wesley) Anderson, and Thomas McKinney, 10 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Deloris was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Thomas McKinney, and Albert Melvin Cope; son, Phillip J. McKinney; grandson, Samuel J. Petrey; brother, Dallas Paugh; and son-in-law, Randy Wagner.

Visitation for Deloris will be on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Burkhart Funeral Home, starting at 2 pm until the service at 3 pm. Deloris will be laid to rest next to her first husband at Oak Hill Cemetery North.
