Dan Aldrich
March 12, 1965-June 5, 2025

Dan Aldrich of New Ross passed away Thursday morning at Franciscan East in Lafayette, at the age of 60.

Dan served his country in the U.S. Navy for 4 years.  After his honorable discharge, he worked at HC Industries (now CSI) for 32 years.  He enjoyed camping, Ford trucks and Colts football.  Most of all, he loved his family and always took care of them.  He was always the last one to get a plate because he wanted to make sure people had enough.  He would help others regularly.

Born March 12, 1965 in Crawfordsville, he was the son of David Aldrich and Beverly Kelso Aldrich Johnson.  He graduated from Crawfordsville High School, class of 1983.  He married Pennie Reed on Feb. 14, 1991 at the Old Log Cabin at Turkey Run State Park.

He was loved and will be missed by his surviving family, which includes: wife, Pennie Aldrich of New Ross; daughter, Alli (Kyler) Coleman; son, Daniel Aldrich II; two loving grandchildren, Lanie and Hutson Coleman; two sisters, Jennifer (Mike) Nowak, Kim (Luke) Parker; two brothers, Michael (Tasha) Johnson, Jeremy (Amber) Johnson; step-father, Joe Johnson; many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, David (Kim) Aldrich, a sister, Cathy (Kenny) Harrison and a nephew, Donnie (Stacia) Aldrich.

A memorial service will be held at Whitesville Christian Church, 3603 S. Ladoga Road, Crawfordsville on Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 1 to 4 PM. Military rights will be performed at 4 PM.  We ask that the dress code be casual. Colorful colors appreciated!

Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his family toward the purchase of a weeping tree to be planted in his honor.
