Cynthia Fulford Conkright of Crawfordsville passed away at 1:10 AM Thursday at Hickory Creek.  She was 88.

Born April 13, 1931 in Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of Johnathan Paul Fulford and Wanda Elizabeth Waldon Fulford.  She attended school at Crawfordsville.  She married Clayton C. Conkright on Sept. 2, 1961 in Danville, Indiana.  He passed away Dec. 24, 2010.

Cynthia worked as a nurse's aide at area nursing homes, retiring from Williamsburg.  She was a member of Fremont St. Baptist Church.  She liked to cook, draw, paint, and loved John Wayne and was a big collector of his memorabilia.

Surviving family includes: three sons, Randy Conkright (Gina) of Nevada, Dale Conkright (Jane) and Lester Conkright (Brenda), both of Crawfordsville; daughter, Carletta Woodruff of Crawfordsville; a granddaughter, Shawna Smith (Tracy) of Buffalo, SC; eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Wanda Lynn Conkright, two brothers, Freddie and Dannie Fulford.

Cynthia was a private lady, so there will not be a public visitation.  There will be a graveside service at Oak Hill Cemetery North on Monday, Oct. 28 at 11 AM, led by Pastor Dan Aldrich.  Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Home.
