Obituary

Rev. Curtis O. McIntyre passed away Tuesday evening at the Ben Hur Home.  He was 83.

Rev. McIntyre was ordained with the Assemblies of God and served eight different churches in a span of over 50 years, with his last being the Freedom Christian Church, near Wallace.  He also worked at R.R. Donnelley, where people called him "Mac," as a certified journeyman three knife trim operator and hand book-binder.  He liked woodworking and book repair, especially Bibles.

Born Aug. 18, 1937 in Champaign, Illinois, he was the son of Gale C. McIntyre and Lillie Ebert McIntyre.  He graduated from Wallace High School, class of 1955.  He later graduated from Central Bible College.  He married Martha Jane Lawson on May 10, 1956 in Kingman.  She passed away Jan. 29, 2005.

Surviving family includes: two sons, Gary McIntyre (Janet) of Lizton, Randy McIntyre of Crawfordsville; two daughters, Judith Morris (Kevin) of South Bend, Jennifer Ryan (Joseph) of New Richmond; brother, Gale O. "Rusty" McIntyre (Pauline); sister, Joy Alexander (Wayne); grandchildren, Garrett (Kristie Charlson), Seth, Amber, Jayden, Jordynn, Jesslynn, Johannah, Chris, Megan; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Parker; special family friend, Rex D. Morgan (Melissa).

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Douglas.

Public visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Friday, Sept. 4, at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash.  Services will be at 11 AM Saturday, Sept. 5, with his nephew, Darrin Herzog officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery Grant Ave.

Donations in memory of Rev. McIntyre may be made to the Freedom Christian Church, c/o Peggy Perry, 1805 E. State Road 234, Kingman, IN 47952.
