Christopher Marnell of Lafayette passed away Friday evening at Franciscan Health East.  He was 51.

Born Sept. 9, 1971 in Chicago Heights, he was the son of Angelo Marnell and Carol Schwarz Marnell.  He worked as a security guard for Securitas.

Surviving family includes: daughter, Sarah Marnell; son, Christopher Marnell; sister, Donna (Patrick) Haugh; two brothers, David (Aaron) Marnell and Steven (Valorie) Marnell; three nephews, three nieces and one great-niece.

He was preceded in death by a son, Nicholas Marnell on June 11, 2011, as well as his parents.

Private burial will be held at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Darlington.  A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Aug. 20th from 2 to 7 PM at the Rockwell Community Club House, 1821 Great Lakes Dr, Dyer, IN 46311.
