Obituary

Carmen J. Wilcox of Darlington got her heavenly legs and was able to run through the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, Dec. 16 after passing away at Lane House.  She was 61.

Carmen loved to write and read poetry.  She loved music, reading scripture and the Bible.  She loved people in general, but was especially fond of her nieces and nephews.  She was baptized at Garfield Christian Church.

Born June 5, 1959 in Lafayette, she was the daughter of Robert D. Wilcox and Doris Ann Greenup Wilcox.  She graduated from North Montgomery in 1977 and attended Goodwill Trade School.

Surviving family includes: father, Robert Wilcox; sister, Sheila Henderson (Jody); two brothers, Mike Wilcox (Amy), John Wilcox (Melissa); three nieces, two nephews, eleven great-nieces and great-nephews as well as one great-great-nephew.

She was preceded in death by her mom and a great-niece, Katlynne Crawford.

Graveside services will be 11:30 AM Monday, Dec. 21 at the Monroe Cemetery, east of Stockwell, led by Pastor Richard Shirar.  Arrangements were made through Burkhart Funeral Home.
