Barbara Jane Wiley, of Shannondale, passed away Wednesday evening in Lane House Nursing Home. She was 72.

Mrs. Wiley was a member of the Eastern Star, the Antique Tractor Club and the Shannondale Presbyterian Church. Early in her life she worked for a few years at Bell Telephone, but spent most of her time as a homemaker. She loved to babysit her grandkids and crochet.

Born May 15, 1937 in Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of Finis and Pauline Burkhardt. She graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1955 and on June 5, 1955 married Wayne S. Wiley. He survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Kenneth (Christy) Wiley and David (Trina) Wiley, both of Darlington, a daughter, Marilyn (Charles Frank) Wiley of Zionsville and a brother, Robert Burkhardt of Booe, Maryland as well as four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Burkhardt.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at Noon at Burkhart Funeral Home of Crawfordsville, with Pastor Amy Mildenberg officiating. Burial will follow at Shannondale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 AM to Noon Saturday at the funeral home.
