William "Bill" Lawton of Crawfordsville passed away at home on Monday morning.  He was 76.

Bill was an Army veteran, serving from 1965-1967, stationed in Korea.  He worked for Wabash College for 30 years in the maintenance department.  He was a 1964 graduate of Crawfordsville High School.

Born April 12, 1945 in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Harry R. Lawton and Mildred Barton Lawton.  He married the former Elaine Day on Jan. 8, 1971.  She survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jacqueline Lawton Moore.

There will not be any visitation or services.  He will be laid to rest privately at the Oak Hill Cemetery Mausoleum.  Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Home.
