Obituary

Wanda Dee Peacock of Linnsburg passed away Friday at Franciscan Health of Lafayette.  She was 69 years old.

Wanda was the county coordinator for Special Olympics  Montgomery County for eight years.  She loved her athletes and they loved her.  She worked at R.R. Donnelley for 26 years.  She was a Past Madam President of the Eagles Auxiliary.  She liked to cook, dance, and watch IU basketball, Pacers and the Packers.  Most of all she loved her family, and especially enjoyed the activities of her grandson.

Born May 4, 1953 in Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of Robert D. Maxwell and Marjorie Lee Maxwell Thompson.  She was a 1971 graduate of Crawfordsville High School, where she was a Sunshine Girl and participated in Sing Out.  She married Greg Peacock on August 6, 2010.  He survives.

Surviving family includes: husband, Greg Peacock; daughter, Cassandra Dee Hicks; grandson, Zachary Hicks; two step-granddaughters, Penelope and Lydia Bridge; mother, Marjorie Thompson; three brothers, Steven Maxwell, Edward (Benita) Maxwell and Philip Maxwell; sister, Connie (Matthew) Peterson.

She was preceded in death by her dad, Robert Maxwell and step-son, Tyler Bridge.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 PM Friday, Jan. 6th at Burkhart Funeral Home.  Services will begin at 6.
