Obituary

Tony Harold Endicott of Darlington passed peacefully away early Tuesday morning at Witham Hospital in Lebanon. He was 89.

Tony was a member of the Darlington Volunteer Fire Department for over 60 years. He liked to help people in any way he could. He was also an avid gardener. Tony possessed a mind for mechanics, he worked as a mechanic at several dealerships in Crawfordsville, then at IMPEX and finally at Stalcop in Thorntown, retiring from there. He was a member of the Darlington Christian Church.

Born June 5, 1933 in Darlington, he was the son of James A. Endicott and Edith Grace DeFord Endicott. He graduated from Darlington High School and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving honorably.

Surviving family includes: his life partner, Lena Hunt of Darlington; nephew, Dave Welshimer (Sharon); niece, Linda Clodjeaux; nephew, Kevin Welshimer; three children, Ronnie Brown (Angie), Bobbie Watson (Bob) and Jim Asbury; along with several great-nieces, great-nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Evelyn Welshimer, nephew, Gary Welshimer and daughter, Cathy Sager.

Visitation will be June 3 rd from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Darlington Christian Church. A memorial service will begin at 2 PM, led by Pastor Ron Brown. His ashes will be laid to rest at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Home.
