Thomas W. Mitchell of Crawfordsville passed away Jan. 27 at home in his sleep.  He was born October 8, 1964 to Michael and Donna Mitchell in Bedford, Indiana.

He was a 1982 graduate of Crawfordsville High School and received a Master's Degree in Political Science at Indiana State University.

He worked for the City of Crawfordsville for 39 years and served as the superintendent of the Wastewater Treatment Plant for 16 years, under four mayors, Michael, Gentry, Zumer and Coons.  His most recent job was at MasterGuard as a paint lab technician.

He married his wife, Corlan Garr Mitchell on January 30, 1998 and she survives.  He also leaves behind three children, Gregory Garr (Amber) of Crawfordsville, Amanda Mae of Battle Creek, Michigan and a daughter at home, Molly Marie.  Two brothers, Tim Mitchell (Tracy) of Fort Wayne, Troy Mitchell (Nichole) of Crawfordsville and a sister, Carol Coffenberry (Keith) of Crawfordsville, also survive along with two grandsons, a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter, eight nieces and six nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Carrie Mitchell, and a grandson.

There will not be a public service.  His family will remember him privately.  Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Home.
