Shirley Ann Zink, formerly of Oxford, Indiana, passed peacefully Monday night after a long battle with dementia. She was 90 years old.
Mrs. Zink was an assistant in the office of Dr. Charles Ade and Dr. Mary Ade in Lafayette for many years, across from Home Hospital. She liked to read and do word puzzles. In earlier years, she was a leader for Brownies and Girl Scouts. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved decorating for different holidays throughout the year for her family. She and her husband hosted family and friends gatherings each year in the famous "party tool shed."
Born Aug. 9, 1935 at the family farm outside Otterbein, she was the daughter of Oren "Red" Hall and Mildred Farrell Hall. She graduated from Oxford High School. She married Robert S. "Bob" Zink on Nov. 5, 1955. He passed away Aug. 6, 2004.
Surviving family includes: two daughters, Robin Tribbett (Rex) of Linden, Shaun Ponder (Clark) of Veedersburg; son, Pat Zink (Jennifer) of Oxford; five grandchildren, Hillary Tribbett of Los Angeles, Brooke Eveland (Mike) of Paris, Illinois, Shelby Pletcher (Jacob) of Eskridge, Kansas, Lane Zink (Skylar) of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Kale Zink (Grace Klooz) of Oxford; two great-grandchildren, Piper and Carson Pletcher.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter, Kelisa "Kelli" Zink, who passed away in Sept. 2025.
Graveside services will be held at 3 PM Saturday, Dec. 27th at the Oxford Catholic Cemetery in Oxford, Indiana. Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Home, Crawfordsville.
