Obituary

Shirley May Brown of Crawfordsville passed away Saturday night at Franciscan Health at Greenwood.  She was 84.

Mrs. Brown was a caregiver, taking care of elderly people in her home and doing babysitting.  She also worked at Mallorys and Hoosier Crown at different times.  She loved to watch old sitcoms and go camping.  She loved her dogs and liked animals in general.

Born Oct. 21, 1935 in Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of Charles McCoy and Edna Jackson McCoy.  She attended Crawfordsville schools.  She married William Guy Brown on Nov. 30, 1952 in Crawfordsville.  He passed away June 29, 1999.

Surviving family includes: two daughters, Brenda Brown Strong (Gordon) and Penny Brown Ames (Bruce); four grandchildren, Nicole DeSmet (Jon), Chad Davenport (Rhonda), Brigitte Ames, Tyler Ames; three great-grandchildren, Carlie DeSmet, Owen DeSmet and Kia Nyiro.

Services will be Saturday, Dec. 28 th at Burkhart Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 11 AM to Noon, with services starting at Noon, led by Pastor Mike Whitacre.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Darlington.

The family asks that you honor Shirley's love of animals with a donation to the Montgomery County Animal Welfare League, 1104 Big Four Arch Road, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
