Sherri Kay Blanton Farfán
May 1, 1978 - Feb. 13, 2020
On February 13, 2020 the Lord gave my beautiful wife, Sherri Kay Blanton Farfán eternal peace. I was blessed to hold her and kiss her goodbye when she passed away that morning at St. Vincent's Hospital, having been ill since November. She was 41 years beautiful.
Sherri was the Assistant Manager at Goodwill, where she had worked since High School. She was also the Manager at the Brownsburg store for a time but asked for a transfer as she liked it better in Crawfordsville. She enjoyed writing, reading, dancing, and playing spoons but most of all she loved to help and take care of others. She also loved to travel to many different places in the U.S. and around the world.
Born May 1, 1978 in Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of Lee Roy Blanton and Rita Kay Allen Blanton. She graduated from Southmont High School and attended Vincennes and Harrison College, with just a few more classes needed for her associate's degree in Business. She married Jose Farfán, her soulmate, and he survives. She had a quick smile that could brighten any room and a big heart. Sherri left us way too soon.
Sherri leaves behind many broken-hearted family members and friends. Her husband Jose Farfán; parents, Lee Roy and Rita Blanton; two brothers, Ronnie Blanton and Danny Blanton; her sister-in-law Marcy Blanton; her mother-in-law Leticia Gomez; sister-in-law Natalia Gomez; bother-in-law Rodrigo Gomez; aunt Milly and uncle James Melendez. Several cousins, nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces as well as her beloved cat, Delilah.
She was preceded in death by: Grandparents, Leslie Allen, Bonnie Allen, Charles Blanton, Lena Blanton; cousin, Brad Allen; uncle, Scott Allen and her father-in-law Arturo Gomez.
As per family's wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will gather for a Memorial service that will be led by Vernon Dowell on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 3 PM at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Avenue, Crawfordsville, IN.
People are welcome to come from 1 to 3 PM to visit and offer condolences to the family.
