Sheila Katherine Scheck, 69, passed away on August 5, 2025 in Linden, Indiana after a long and valiant battle with cancer.

Sheila was born on November 25, 1955 in Rock Island, Illinois to Michael and Tess Scheck, the fifth of their nine children. Sheila spent her younger years in Rock Island and graduated from Rock Island "Rocky" High School in 1974. After high school she moved first to Makakilo, Hawaii and then Terre Haute, Indiana, where for 35 years she worked as a nurse's aide in the health care industry. Shelia loved knitting and crocheting colorful and lovely hats, sweaters, and blankets for her many friends a family. If it is true that it takes a village to raise a child, then in the Scheck clan Sheila was often the village all by herself, as she loved caring for all her younger siblings, nieces and nephews and their children, all of whom adored their Aunt "She-She" more than anyone in the world. She had a strong faith in God that never wavered in her 69 years.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, her big sister Kristina Scheck, and by grand-nephews Edward Zaleski and Daniel Thibodeaux. She is survived by her sisters Elizabeth Scheck, Ann Scheck (Jack Bernard), Maggie Geene (Burke), and Jeanne Smith (William), and by her brothers Michael (Jaqueline), John, and Matthew, plus 14 nieces and nephews, 15 grandnieces and nephews, and 12 great-grandnieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Family requests no flowers.
