Sharon L. Stites of Crawfordsville passed away Monday afternoon at the Ben-Hur Home.  She was 74.

Sharon loved animals, dogs, cats, birds and especially hummingbirds.  She was a member of the ASPCA and Wildlife Defenders.  She was also a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Newtown, Eagles and Moose.  She worked at REMC in Attica for several years and later drove the Sunshine Van in Crawfordsville.  In addition to her love of animals, she liked flowers, gardening and doing crafts.

Born Feb. 25, 1946 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of William Monroe Hutts, Sr. and Francis Evelyn Hutts Shoaf.  She attended school at Attica and Rainsville.  She married Jim Eubanks April 9, 1964 and they later divorced.  She married Jerry Dean Stites July 4, 1994 and he passed away July 29, 2004.

Surviving family includes: daughter, Tabatha France (Bryan) of Crawfordsville; son, Shawn Eubanks (Sunny) of New Richmond; sister, Willa Quillen (Don O'Neal) of Newtown; brother, William M. Hutts II of Dayton; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Vicki Lynn Beams.

Private family services will be held Friday at Burkhart Funeral Home, led by Pastor Brent Oliver.  Burial will be at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery.
