Sharon Kay Bone

Sharon Kay Bone of rural Crawfordsville passed away at Homewood Health in Lebanon with family by her side.  She was 79.

Sharon taught school in Champaign, Illinois before coming to Lafayette and teaching at Tecumseh Jr. High and Jefferson Jr. High.  She loved to read, cook, sew and do crossword puzzles.  She graduated from high school in Armstrong, Illinois and later earned her Master's Degree at the University of Illinois.

Born Nov. 21, 1942 in Biloxi, Mississippi, she was the daughter of James Ehrnwald and Ida Kathryn Ehrnwald.  She married Jesse Eugene Bone on Feb. 24, 1975.  He survives.

Surviving family includes: husband, Jesse Eugene Bone; son, Joseph (Katrina) Bone; daughter, Gina (Dave) Gordon Fields; son, Mike Bone; sister-in-law, Patricia Ehrnwald; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Dennis Ehrnwald and sister, Sheila "Mickey" Stephen.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Thursday Sept. 8th at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Avenue.  A funeral Mass will be held Friday Sept. 9th at 11 AM at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 1306 E. Main Street, led by Father Michael Bower.  Private interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Crawfordsville.
