Obituary

Ruth Ward Moore of Darlington passed away Saturday morning at home.  She was 95.

Ruth liked dancing, karaoke and travelling.  She was a homemaker that also devoted time doing voter registration for the county.  She was a long-time member and Past Madam President of the Crawfordsville Eagles Auxiliary.  Most of all, she loved her family and any chance she could be with them.

Born July 17, 1928 in Ladoga, she was the daughter of Winfred "Slim" Vice and Anita Robbins Vice. She graduated from Ladoga High School.  She married John W. "Jack" Ward in 1947 and he passed away in 1983.  She married Roy Lee Moore in 1986 and he passed away in 2010.

Surviving family includes: daughter, Amy Wilcox (Mike) of Darlington; son, Rick Ward (Terri) of Tennessee; two step-sons, Darrell Lee Moore of Mississippi, and Brian Moore of Crawfordsville; step-daughter, Melissa Vail of Florida; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both husbands, ten brothers and sisters as well as a great-granddaughter, Katlynne Crawford.

Graveside services will be at 11 AM Thursday, Jan. 25th in the Greenlawn Cemetery at Darlington, led by Dick Shirar.  Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Home.
