Ruth Evans of Linden passed away Thursday at home.  She was 86.

Mrs. Evans was a homemaker that also worked for the Linden Library and North Montgomery High School.  She graduated from Big Creek High School in War, West Virginia.

Born Jan. 22, 1934 in Honaker, Virginia, she was the daughter of Allen Griffith and Louvenia Vickers Griffith.  She married Darrell Evans, who passed away Oct. 31, 2002.

Surviving family includes: four sons, Ron Evans of Warsaw, Steve Evans of Chillicothe, Illinois, Mark Evans and David Evans, both of Crawfordsville; three brothers, Roger Griffith, Billy Griffith and Sonny Griffith; sister, Drema Shuler; twelve grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Clark, two grandsons, Michael and Colby Evans and four sisters, Sue, Donna, Phyllis and Linda.

A memorial graveside service for family and close friends will be held on Friday, Sept. 4 at 1 PM at the Linden Cemetery.  Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Home, Crawfordsville.
