Roy Wayne Burnett

Roy Wayne Burnett of Greencastle passed away Wednesday morning at the Waters of Greencastle at the age of 88.

Mr. Burnett served his country in the U. S. Army, stationed in Korea.  He worked for many years doing maintenance at the chemical plant.

Born Feb. 8, 1938 in London, Kentucky, he was the son of Elias Cox Burnett and Ruby Ethel Owen Burnett.  He married the former Norma Morris, who survives.

Surviving family includes: wife, Norma Burnett; daughter, Samantha Cooley; daughter, Rebecca Carlton; his four adopted children, Lisa Wishtischin, Casey Shaffer, Nicole Bartels and Shawn Brown; three step-children, Allen Emberton, Kim Morgan and Rhonda Sult; sixteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

His family is planning to hold a memorial service on Sept. 5th at the Twin Points Shelter of the Walnut Point State Park, north of Oakland, Illinois.  Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Home., Crawfordsville.
