Rosemary Snider Hatke

March 25, 1932 to September 24, 2026

In the early morning of September 24, 2026, Rosemary Snider Hatke, left her earthly body and went with her Lord and Savior at Creasy Springs Health Campus in Lafayette. She was 94.

Born in Lafayette, Indiana on March 25, 1932 to Marion Alfred and Leotha May Peak Snider. She attended Saint Mary-of-the-Woods and went on to graduate from St. Francis in Lafayette. After high school she attended one year at St. Elizabeth School of Nursing before she met her husband Stanley Vincent Hatke. Stanley and Rosemary were married on January 20, 1951 in Attica. After marriage Stanley and Rosemary moved to Lafayette and then went on to move South of Linden. On the farm Rosemary and Stanley raised not only hogs, chickens and crops but also 9 children.

Rosemary was a true Homemaker, loved making quilts and Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls; she loved her garden and attending meetings for her children’s 4-H events. Rosemary worked as a teachers’ aid in Linden and also at County Market as demo coordinator. She was a member at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, as well as MNO (Mother’s Night Out) with the Homemaker Extension Group of Montgomery County and 4-M’s.

Surviving family includes: children, Sharon Harlan of Lebanon, Barbara (Dennis) Carrell of Lebanon, Diana Simpson of Lafayette, Madonna (Micheal Wilson) Bailey of Merritt Island, Florida, Michael (Rita) Hatke, of Crawfordsville, and Roseann Ryle of Cape Canaveral, Florida; grandchildren, Cara (Jeremy), Joe (Lisa), Jill (Drew), Ashley, Stacy (Craig), Keith (Rebecca), Amanda (John), Jason (Alexis) and Amber (James); great-grandchildren, Sophia, Hunter, Nora, Delcie, Dexter, Olivia, Lizzy, Kaitlyn, Lucas, Samantha, Aiden, Emily, Lily, Lexi, Theo and Austin; son-in-law, Gary Truax; daughter-in-law, Terresa Hatke; and brothers, Joe and Frank Snider.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley Hatke; sons, Ronald Hatke and Steven Hatke; daughter, Carla Hatke Truex; grandson, Adam Carrell; son-in-law, Wes Harlan; and brothers, James and George Snider.

Visitation for Rosemary will be on Monday, September 28, 2026 from 5 to 7 PM at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, September 29, 2026 led by Rev. David Buckles. Burial will follow Mass at Calvary Cemetery.
