Rosalie Joy Burket of Crawfordsville passed away Wednesday afternoon in Wellbrooke at the age of 93.

Joy was a member of East Side Baptist Church for 48 years. She worked at the Indiana Agency for the Blind, teaching practical skills and home economics. She herself became legally blind in her early teens. She was also a member of the Montgomery County Historical Society.

Born Oct. 15, 1932 in Fountain County, she was the daughter of Russell Lamb and Donnis Graves Lamb. She graduated from Crawfordsville High School. Joy married Frank Burket, who preceded her in death.

Surviving family includes: sister, Kay Lamb of Crawfordsville; one niece, two nephews, one great-niece, one great-nephew, several cousins and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Ray Lamb.

There will not be a visitation. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, Sept. 26th at East Side Baptist Church, 2000 Traction Road, Crawfordsville, led by Pastor Steve Whicker. After the service, she will be laid to rest at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Home.
