Obituary

Robert W. "Bob" Peterman of Crawfordsville passed away Tuesday morning at Franciscan Health at the age of 82.

Bob began his working career at California Pellet Mill, he then spent 30 years as a policeman for the city of Crawfordsville, retiring as captain of detectives.  He later worked 20 years as Montgomery County Building Inspector.  After Hurricane Katrina, he made several mission trips to New Orleans to help people in that area.  He did drywall and all sorts of manual work there.

Born Feb. 12, 1943 in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Robert E. Peterman and Avanell Jackson Peterman.  He graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1961.  On Nov. 22, 1961 he married Mary Virginia "Ginny" Roche at St. Bernard's Catholic Church.

Surviving family includes: wife, Ginny Peterman of Crawfordsville; four children, Denise of California, Robert J. (Tracy) of California, Ann of Crawfordsville and Jennifer of Crawfordsville; six grandchildren, Erika, Lauren, Anthony, Bobby, Olivia, Waylon; two great-grandchildren Brendan and Asiah; brother, David Peterman; sister, Roseanna (Don) Kincaid.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a five year-old son, Matthew.

Visitation will be from 10 AM to 12 Noon, Saturday, March 1st at Burkhart Funeral Home.  Services will begin at 12, led by Father David Hellmann.  After the service, he will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
