Robert Edward Groves

Robert Edward Groves left this Earth for his Heavenly home September 29, 2022

He was born to Robert and Margaret Brown Groves Sept. 1, 1945.  He was reared in Darlington and graduated from Darlington High School in 1964.  He joined the Army National Guard until 1971.  He was also a member of the American Legion.  He worked at Raybestos.

He married Connie Mogle and they had three children: Becky (John) Owens, Richard Groves and Beth Ann Williams; four grandchildren, Tyler and Trey Owens, Jake Groves and Kareena Williams.

His parents preceded him in death as did his sister, Nancy Caldwell.

He is also survived by a brother, John (Wanda) Groves and a sister, Linda (Harold) Carpenter, along with ten nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the New Hope Christian Church and was active in the men's group.  He will be missed by many!

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 Pm Wednesday, Oct. 5 ^th at Burkhart Funeral Home.  Services will be at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 AM, led by Pastor Darrell Portwood.  After the service, he will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in Darlington.
