Richard Clouser

Richard Steven "Dick" Clouser of Darlington passed away Sunday at home.  He was 76.

Dick was a diesel mechanic and Tri-axle operator, working 25 years for Macy, Inc. He retired in 2010.  Recently he enjoyed helping the Cain family with planting, harvest and sharing his mechanical knowledge with the men that he loved like sons.  Dick loved spending time with his family.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, taking care of the family farm that has been in the Clouser name since 1848.  He enjoyed time in the woods running his chainsaw and operating his backhoe.  He especially loved spending mornings at the Mini Mart, sharing his humorous bits of wisdom and his phone calls with his best friends, Ralph & Kenny.  We must mention Wendy, the only dog he ever loved, although Miss Sky brings a close second.

Born Jan. 24, 1948 in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Francis and Julia Clouser.  He graduated from Darlington High School, class of 1966.  He married Sandra Maxwell on Aug. 20, 1965 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Crawfordsville, where he was a life-long member since birth.

Surviving are: wife, Sandra Clouser; three daughters, Jennifer Clouser, Jackie Warren and Casey (Jeremy) Phillips; brother, Dennis (Frances) Clouser; sister, Mary Lester; sister-in-law, Marj Clouser, brothers-in-law, Dennis and Jerry Maxwell; grandchildren, Nick (Brandy) Clouser, Jessica (Tommy) Morgan, Justin (Kelsey) Warren, Taylor (Toby) Pribble, Megan (Sam) Baggett, Kaley (Alex) Remley, Zach Leonard, Regan (Brady) Remley, Jaydelyn Phillips, Emrik Phillips; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Owen, and Connor Morgan, Brookston Blackstone, Hunter Irelan, Beckett, Sawyer and Gentry Pribble, Holland and Callahan Baggett; many wonderful nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, Francis and Julia Clouser, son-in-law, Tom Warren, two brothers, Dave and Mike Clouser.

Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM Saturday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 1306 E. Main Street, Crawfordsville, with a Memorial Mass starting at 1 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Wounded Warrior Project or the Montgomery County Community Foundation to benefit the Tom Warren Memorial Fund.
