Richard L. Davis, Sr.

Richard L. Davis Sr. of Crawfordsville passed away Thursday in his home. He was 76.

Born Feb. 22, 1943 in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Aileen Turpin. He attended Crawfordsville schools before serving his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He worked many years in facility maintenance at Heritage Products, retiring from there. He was a life member of the NRA and a member of the VFW and American Legion.

Surviving family includes: son, Rick Davis (Amy) of Crawfordsville; daughter, Shelly Wilson (Johnny) of Crawfordsville; two brothers, Edward Stewart and Jim Stewart; six grandchildren, Ariel Krzyzanski, Nikita Krzyzanski, Brandon Ross, Steven Wilson, Lukas Benge and Kearston Conway; along with three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ivy Davis, two brothers, John Stewart, Sr. and Ron Stewart.

A gathering to remember and celebrate the life of Richard Davis, Sr. will be held from 1 to 4 PM Sunday, Nov. 10 at the Moose Lodge, with a small meal by Allen's Country Kitchen.

Cremation has been arranged through Burkhart Funeral Home and his family plans in inter his ashes with his granddaughter, Ivy Davis, at Oak Hill Cemetery North.
