It is with hearts firmly rooted in our hope in the Risen Lord that we share the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather, Patrick George Fay. He passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026 at the age of 90.

Pat was born on November 18, 1935 to parents Mary (White) and Daniel Fay in Detroit, Michigan. He married the love of his life, Janet (nee Darling) on June 21st 1958 and together they had six children.

Prior to their marriage, Pat joined the Air Force and was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska during the Korean conflict. Alaska held a special place in his heart ever since.

Pat was a hard worker his entire life, working primarily in the automobile industry. He was an avid bicyclist, with many multi-state trips under his belt, including a trip along the C&O Canal Bike Trail with several grandchildren in tow — he was 70 years old at the time! His family will remember him as a family man, taking us tobogganing, leading our family bike rides to the cider mill, and fashioning go-carts for us. He was creative and artistic, and led several watercolor workshops in the Crawfordsville area.

And no recounting of Pat’s life would be complete without mention of his love for the Christmas season. Our tree was always up no later than Thanksgiving, and visiting family approached Mom and Dad’s house bursting with anticipation to see the lights and the Christmas village (complete with train) that Dad would have ready for our arrival. And of course, the dancing Grinch!

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Monica; brothers Danny, Dennis, James and William; daughter Mary, and daughter-in-law, Lisa.

Pat is survived by his wife of 68 years, Janet (Darling); children Bonnie (Fay) Kallis, James, Richard (Marla) Fay, Barbara (Patrick) Murphy, and Susan (David) Hester. He leaves 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren. He is survived by many nieces & nephews and dear friends.

Visitation for Pat will be on Friday, October 2, 2026 from 9 to 11 am at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am led by Father Micheal Bower. Burial will follow Mass at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery with military honors provided by American Legion Post 72.
