Obituary

Patricia Booher Murdock

April 23, 1937 – January 26, 2021

Pattie passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior after a short illness with COVID-19. She was born in Darlington, IN to Carl and Louise Payne Booher. She spent her childhood there and attended Darlington High School. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Crawfordsville. She married Charles Murdock on July 8, 1967 at Crawfordsville. He preceded her in death on January 22, 2010.

Pattie was extremely creative and enjoyed making handmade gifts and baked treats for family and friends.  She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and was an accomplished seamstress. When her grandchildren were small, she often made them clothing. She created beautiful porcelain dolls, hand painting the faces and making the clothing herself. She enjoyed creating ceramic pieces from start to finish and often gifted her ceramics to others. She was an avid baker and not only collected recipes, she tried them all out. She was a talented cake decorator and ran a small business out of her home for many years creating everything from sheet cakes to enormous, tiered wedding cakes. Pattie worked several places in retail including Danners and 3D, often in the fabric and crafting departments.

Pattie belonged to several service clubs throughout her lifetime. She was a 42-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 72 and a longtime member of the Elks Club where she was currently serving as Lecturing Knight. She was also a 42-year member of the Eagles Auxiliary 1005 where she had served as Past Madam President and had been awarded the Mrs. Eagle award for living the Eagles motto of "People helping People." Currently she had been serving as Conductor.

Pattie will be remembered by friends and family as outgoing, kind and benevolent with a little sprinkle of playful mischief. Laughter was her favorite activity and she indulged in it whenever possible. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and was always first to lend a helping hand, kind word or small gift to show her appreciation or love. Above all, she loved her family.
