Morris L. Barker of Yountsville passed away Monday, October 21, 2024, at the age of 86. Morrie, as he liked to be called, was first and foremost, a devoted husband and father. In his lifetime he was a dairy farmer, raised livestock and worked at Wabash College for many years. He enjoyed working outdoors and especially enjoyed mowing the home farm.

Born in Indianapolis, he was the oldest son of Lawrence and Elizabeth (Beth) Barker. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Janet; son Mark (Pam) Barker, four daughters, Sheryl (Dave) McCance, Laura (James) Waye, Kristy Barker, Diane (Jason) Metzinger, step-daughter Diana, step-sons Leo (Darlene) and Joshua (Melinda); fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two brothers also survive; Gerrell (Beverly) and Donald (Melissa) Barker. He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Yountsville Community Church (4382 St. Rd. 32, Yountsville, Indiana) on November 2, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
