Minnie Mae Watt

June 2, 1940-Dec. 11, 2025

Minnie Mae Watt of Linden passed away Thursday at home.  She was 85.

Born June 2, 1940 in Crab Orchard, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Craig Dowell and Sarah Dowell.  She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.  She worked for Gardner's Cleaning Service and then went to work at the state highway department, retiring from there after 20 years.  She liked gardening, flowers, hummingbirds, and had several feeders in her backyard.  She liked watching John Wayne movies and watching her neighborhood from her window, while working on word search puzzles. Most of all, she loved her family and the time she spent with grandkids and great-grandkids.

Surviving family includes: five children, Larry (Peaches) Watt, Mike Watt, Rick (Mary) Watt, Debbe (Jeremy) Behling and David (Jesselle) Watt; sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Watt, two sisters, Lou Emberton and Shirley McKeown, three brothers, Vernon, Melvin, and Marvin Dowell and three nephews, Kenneth Dowell, Albert and Daryl Emberton.
