Mildred Louise Isenberg Wise, a lifelong resident of Crawfordsville passed away Sept. 12, 2021 at the age of 90.

Born March 10, 1931 in Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of William Harold Isenberg and Roma E. Bundy Isenberg, both preceded her in death.  She graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1949.  Mildred married Robert W. VanCleave, Sr. and Raymond A. Wise.  Both preceded her in death.

Mildred was a member of the Smartsburg Christian Church, Ladies Aid and Order or Eastern Star.  She enjoyed 4-H, volleyball, softball, bowling and watching her children and grandchildren play sports.  Mildred was employed by Montgomery Ward, Dekalb and Davidson's Greenhouse.

Surviving family members includes: five children, David A. VanCleave of Crawfordsville, Robert W. VanCleave, Jr. of Crawfordsville, Deborah A. (John) Higgins of Crawfordsville, Constance S. (David) Hasty of Rocky Face, GA and Steven H. (Tami) VanCleave of Pendleton; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Mildred was preceded in death by three brothers, Roger Isenberg, Lloyd Isenberg, Donald Isenberg, one sister, Betty Isenberg, one granddaughter, DeAnna VanCleave Garcia, two great-great-grandsons, Braeden and Caydin Kirts, great-great-granddaughter, Katy Benge and nephew, Lloyd Isenberg, Jr.

Visitation will be from 10 AM to 1 PM Wednesday at Burkhart Funeral Home.  Eastern Star services will begin at 1 PM, followed by funeral services.  After the service, she will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery North.
