Obituary

Maxine Vaught of Lafayette, formerly of Crawfordsville, passed away Monday afternoon at Springs of Lafayette.  She was 90.

Mrs. Vaught was a homemaker and wife who loved her kitchen, cooking and doing crafts, particularly ceramics.  She worked at R. R. Donnelley for a few years before starting a family.

Born March 12, 1929 in Alamo, she was the daughter of Russell Miles and Lula Miles.  She graduated from Crawfordsville High School.  She married Lloyd E. Vaught in November of 1953 and he passed away March 18, 2009.

Surviving family includes: three sons, Duane Vaught (Georgia), Dale Vaught (Adair) and Glen Vaught (Brenda); three grandchildren, Troy, Amber and Eric; two sisters, Wanita Himes and Beulah Peabody.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Miles and sister, Kay Booher.

Visitation for Maxine Vaught will be at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Avenue, at 10 AM Saturday until 11:30 with a service at 11:30 AM, led by Pastor Tony Thomas, followed by burial at Oak Hill Cemetery North.
