Martha Jane Runyan

May 8, 1946-Feb. 9, 2020

Martha Jane Runyan of Crawfordsville passed away at 11:45 PM Sunday at IU Arnett in Lafayette.  She was 73.

Mrs. Runyan was a special needs aide for many years in both the Crawfordsville and North Montgomery school systems.  She was a member of the Congregational Christian Church in Darlington, Eastern Star, Tri Kappa and her card club.  She loved to read and travel, especially to Disneyland.  Most of all, she loved her grandchildren.

Born May 8, 1946 in Anderson, Indiana, she was the daughter of Merrell Ayres and Martha McCool Ayres.  She graduated from Madison Heights H.S. in 1964 and attended Greenbriar College and Indiana State.  She married Bill Runyan on June 16, 1968.  He survives.

Surviving family includes: husband, Bill Runyan of Crawfordsville; son, Steve Runyan (Mia) of Crawfordsville; daughter, Stacy Jackson (Scott) of Crawfordsville; five grandchildren, Chris, Ashley, Jonelle, Ethan, Olivia; sister, Cathy Potter of Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services will be at the Congregational Christian Church in Darlington, Indiana on Thursday, Feb. 13 th at 6 PM, led by Pastor Seth Stultz.  Visitation will be from 4 to 6 PM at the church.
